I have had previous problems upon returning from cruises. The first one in 2002 was bad, I got back and for three months I felt like I was walking outside of my body. I couldn't go to the gym, take a walk.....I was wobbling but no one else could see it. Dr. didn't really have an explanation for me except to tell me that some people live with this inner ear problem for years. My thought was, no way can I deal with this for years...it was horrible. I was tired all the time and just out of it. The next cruise was in 2007, I went through the same thing....it lasted about 2 months. So, I love cruising. We always get a balcony and when we get back home, I lay in bed and feel that feeling of when I drift off to sleep and wish I was still on board. I made myself stop doing this and the last three cruises have been fine for me. Thank god!!! I am heading out to a Med cruise this spring for 12 days (usually only do 7 in the Caribbean) and praying that I don't have any problems. Although I did not go through the extent of problems you went through, I can certainly sympathize with what you have been through.

It took me a few years to find out what exactly caused my MdDS, but elevators are the main reason. My symptoms have gotten worse over last five years. I have currently been in vestibular physical therapy for the past 4 months with no signs of improvement, but have not giving up hope. Spending a few days in a hotel and it can take up to six months to see an improvement on my symptoms. It's been a live altering time and I'm hoping that there is more research done on this condition. My symptoms include extreme fatigue, trouble concentrating, slighty blurred vision and a feeling up movement (mostly when walking, not as bad when sitting still). I'm a male in my mid-thirties and most of the sites i've researched are directed to women in their 40's and 50's. I will keep you posted on my vestibular physical therapy and if there are any improvements.

Wheelchair, bike spokes in motion, crowded places trigger my MdDS. Love being driven around in the car but the after effect of getting out of the car makes it much worse for some reason

I also have Adult ADD and the Adderall make me more focused during the day and helps me concentrate so much better. Ask your Dr. about it because if I don't take it I want to lie down all the time
